For the 25/26 academic year, the full year membership is £80 for students, or £90 for non-students or students of other universities, like Edinburgh Napier. The single-semester membership is £45 and £50 respectively. You might have to pay for Edinburgh University Sports Union (EUSU) membership on top of that.
Getting started
Three steps to your first river.
01
Get your membership
Sign up for the year or a single semester through the Edinburgh University Sports Union (EUSU). That unlocks trips, kit and everything below.
02
Come to a pool session
Fridays, 20:10 at St Leonard's Land. Try a wet exit, you'll need to have done one before your first river trip. Then it's nachos at The Southsider.
03
Sign up on Spond
Every trip and event runs through our Spond. Pick a beginner river trip, grab a kit list, and come and send it.
Still on the fence?
Don't worry! Without membership you can still get a taste for the club. You will be able to attend socials and 2 free pool sessions. You cannot attend trips or residentials until you pay for membership. Your fees will help us cover the cost of insurance, kit maintenance, and much more. It helps to keep the club alive!
A note on affiliation
Also note: if you're a keen kayaker who frequently paddles outside of club trips, we recommend you get a Paddle Scotland membership as well. This will give you access to a bunch of perks, like a subscription to the Scottish Paddler, insurance, discounts, and Stanley access. Please bear in mind that we are an SCA-affiliated club.
